Rose Paula Ahern's Obituary
Rose Paula Ahern (nee Salerno) passed away peacefully on April 21, 2015 at the Cadbury at Cherry Hill, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to Frank and Julia (nee Trema) Salerno, Rose was 95 years old.
She was a resident of The Cadbury for 3 years and formerly lived in Arlington, VA.
Rose is predeceased by her husband, R-ADM James Richard Ahern, and her children, James Russell Ahern and Janet Rose Ahern.
Surviving are Rose’s grandson Nicolas Bru and her sister Marie Knouff.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed being a naval officer’s wife as it afforded her to visit and live in many places where her warm and vibrant personality made her many great friends. They lived in Princetown, Boston, Charleston, French Morocco, San Diego and Hawaii before settling in Arlington, VA.
Rose enjoyed golfing, swimming, the beach, traveling and the Army Navy Country Club.
She was employed as a secretary for RCA in Camden for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rose's Life Celebration and viewing Friday April 24th from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North. Her Funeral Mass will follow 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 42 West Main Street, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
