Rose M. McGehrin (née Podagrosi), 87, of Riverton, NJ, formerly of South Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Mary Podagrosi.
Rose was the devoted wife of the late William McGehrin, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Maryann Millman, Kelly Colarelli (John), and William McGehrin (Trisha). Rose was a proud grandmother of six and great-grandmother of four. She was predeceased by her sister and best friend, Anna Squadrito, and will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A proud South Philadelphia native, Rose carried her love for the city throughout her life. She found joy in cooking, baking, and gathering her family around the table. Her homemade lasagna and special Pignolata were family favorites. Rose’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, where she attended Mass regularly.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rose’s life on Monday, December 2, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, and again on Tuesday, December 3, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, with interment at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Philadelphia.
