Ruth Anne Anton's Obituary
Ruth Anne Anton (née Comerford) passed away on March 1, 2023, at the age of 77, with family by her side in Marlton, NJ.
Born in Waterbury, CT, in 1945, Ruth Anne was the first child of the late Thomas P. Comerford and the late Ruth Comerford (née Barry). She was raised in the Scranton area, graduating from Marywood Seminary High School, and later, Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston, majoring in Art. It was in Boston that she met her soulmate, Bruce.
Ruth Anne is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 50 years, Bruce Anton; son, Derek Anton (Diane); grandson, Rory Anton; sister and best friend, Susan Wzorek (Stephen); two brothers, Tom Comerford (Gail), and John Comerford. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the family dog, Molly.
Ruth Anne loved spending time with her family and extensive network of friends. Throughout their nine relocations, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family, and she created beauty wherever she was. Her gardens were a thing to behold. Ruth Anne was a true animal lover and over the years, cared for her beloved pets including 10 cats and five dogs. Within each community, she frequently volunteered and was involved in many charitable and social organizations. As a life-long New England Patriots fan, she never missed a game. Ruth Anne will always be remembered for her impeccable clothing and meaningful conversations. Always laughing and smiling, she filled the lives of those around her with love and positivity.
