Mom-mom... where’d that name even come from?! I’m sure there’s a story, but I thought to myself, what do I remember most, well here it is:
1. She had the ability to smile and light up a room with her dimples and pearly whites, just like her mom did and just like Katie can do now. On the flip side, that face could dish out the sternest of looks that would send chills down the spine of the hardest of men.
2. She drank Sanka coffee and always had a dish of the standard grandma issued hard candies. To this day the smell of instant coffee reminds me of her.
3. Her and Bernice trying to sort out the check after dinner. She was a force to be reckoned with, which she definitely passed down to her girls.
4. Her trying to teach the grand kids the “camel walk dance”. Never heard of it? Look it up and imagine her doing it in white platform sandals. That happened, I swear!
Mom-mom will be greatly missed, but it’s her memories that will keep her alive in us all.
