Sallie Pottieger Degler's Obituary
Sallie Pottieger Degler, 82, a cherished resident of Cinnaminson for the past 52 years, passed away peacefully at her home on February 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born to Herbert and Virginia Kanengeiser on September 20, 1942 in Norristown, PA, Sallie was a devoted wife to David Degler, a loving mother to Douglas Pottieger (Kim), Steven Pottieger (Loni), and Richard Pottieger (Dawn), and a proud grandmother to Sarah (Kyle), Hannah (Jason), Abigail, Victoria (Francesco), Drew (Brittany), Michael (Kylie), James, Bradley (Charlotte), Ryan (Ashley), and Kyle (Karin). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Gail Arnold.
Sallie will be remembered above all for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending her garden, watching the birds at her feeder, and spending time in Ocean City, NJ. An avid traveler, she delighted in exploring islands, New England, and any place near water. Sallie had a passion for shopping, savoring her daily coffee, reading, poetry, and listening to Neil Diamond, and nothing made her happier than engaging in heartfelt conversations with friends and family.
Sallie was a proud member of the Riverton Porch Club and generously volunteered with the Providence House. Throughout her life, she embraced a variety of roles—ranging from substitute teacher and nursery school teacher to entrepreneur, having owned Advanced Telecommunications Inc. for 30 years.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Sallie’s life on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Cinnaminson, NJ. The gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sallie’s name may be made to The Providence House (https://www.catholiccharitiestrenton.org/domestic-violence-services/) or The Porch Club of Riverton (https://www.theporchclub.org/).
