Shelden Seymour Smith of Cinnaminson passed away on December 23rd at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Margaret ‘Peg’ Smith. Dear father of Shelden ‘Dooner’ Smith Jr. and his wife Caroline. Son of the late Dan M. and Hilda L. Brother of Dan M. Jr (Anita), Barbara A. Connolly (the late Kenneth), Mary A. Sandone (Richard), Drucilla A. Forristall (Edward), Valerie Tantum (James), Richard H.(Kathleen), Robin Borden (David) and the late Judith Galbraith (the late Frank). Shelden is also survived by his father-in-law, Louis J. Petti (the late Rosanna “Dolly’ Petti), brothers-in-law, Robert G. Petti (Kathleen), Christopher L. Petti (Cynthia), Mark A. Petti (Victoria), Louis J. Petti Jr (Mary), Neal M. Petti (Denise) and sister-in-law Susan M. Renzi (Jerry) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends including Suzanne Mader (Fred), Sherri Brooks (Andy), Richard Sandone (Joy), Holly Peña (Andrew), Stephanie Castile (Roger), Edward Forristall (Shaun White), Dan Forristall (Erin), Jason (Colleen), Justin (Lauren), Meghan Martindale (Mason), Todd Borden (Jenna), Rebecca Petti, Alexis Petti, Rachel Waldman PA-C (Joseph), Nicholas Petti, Amy Petti, Richard Manco, Gina Petti, Mark Petti, Jr, Jason Petti, Erika Lawfer (Nathan), Michael Renzi, Lindsay Petti, Brittany Petti, Krista Petti, Michaelina Petti and Gianni Petti.
Shelden proudly served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where received the Bronze Star Medal. He was employed for 23 years by CMI Plastics Cranbury, NJ and Ayden, NC.
He was involved with the theater program at Holy Cross Academy, Delran, NJ, and Burlington County Footlighters, Cinnaminson, NJ. His knowledge of History and Entertainment trivia was unparalleled. He had a way with words.
Relatives and friends are invited to Shelden’s Life Celebration Tuesday evening 7-9 and Wednesday morning 10-11 from St. Charles Borromeo Church, Branch Pike and Pomona Rds. Funeral Mass 11am. Interment with military honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown Pa. Please – no flowers.
