Shirley Good's Obituary
Shirley Good (nee Roberts) passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022. Born in Trenton, NJ to the late Joseph M. and Berendena S. (Hoekstra) Roberts, she was 95 years old.
Shirley was the beloved wife of the late William E. Good, who passed away in 2007; loving mother of Alice B. Good of Riverton, NJ and David E. Good of Naperville, IL; cherished grandmother of Andrew Good, Eleanor Good, Sean Cesaretti and Ryan Cesaretti. She will be dearly missed by her family.
A private graveside committal service will be held on Friday March 11th at 12:00 pm at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. A memorial service for friends and relatives will be held at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 N., on May 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
Shirley was a graduate of Earlham College and had a master’s degree in education from Rutgers University. In her youth she was a medical technician. For most of her life she was a school teacher and in her later years went back to college and became a medical technologist. She taught 3rd grade at Moorestown Friends School for many years and also opened a preschool in Palmyra. She loved all facets of education, both giving and receiving.
She met her husband, William, in Riverton and they were married at Calvary Presbyterian Church. She had many diverse talents. Shirley sang soprano in the Covenant United Presbyterian church choir in Cinnaminson. She joyfully played the piano and organ. She was an expert in sewing- making clothes, doing needlepoint and knitting. She was also an avid traveler and visited many parts of the world including Japan and Australia. One of her favorite trips was a bicycle tour of Holland, her mother’s homeland.
