Shirley D. Rogers' Obituary
Shirley Doloros Rogers, 66, of Moorestown, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024 at home after a battle with cancer.
Born on April 27, 1958, in Camden, NJ, to Raymond and Mary Namako, Shirley was a beloved wife to Charles Rogers and a devoted mother to Kevin Hussey, Douglas Rogers, Dawn Carson (Paul), the late Danny Hussey, and the late Krystal Hussey. She was also a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren. As the eldest of five siblings, Shirley's nurturing spirit touched many lives, including numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
For many years, Shirley worked as a custom framer in Burlington, NJ, where her passion for art and keen eye for color and design shone brightly. Her creativity and talent made her the go-to person for family decorating advice. In her free time, she enjoyed playing Scrabble and Words with Friends. Summers were often spent in Wildwood, NJ, where she loved fishing, crabbing, swimming, and soaking up the sun. Shirley also found joy in needlepoint and watching Lifetime movies. She treasured gatherings with friends and sisters for girls' nights or trips to the movie theater, always bringing fun and liveliness to family events.
Shirley's maternal nature was evident from a young age, helping to raise her sisters and later, her own five children. She was selfless, always putting others' needs ahead of her own, and will be remembered most for her unwavering love and dedication to her family.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, September 18th at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main Street, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with her memorial service beginning at 12:00 PM.
