Stacy Allen Lawrence's Obituary
Our hearts are broken as we share that our beloved big brother, Stacy Lawrence, 64, of Marlton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
Stacy studied Radio, Television, and Film at Rowan University a little later in life, but his true passion was always art. After graduating, he began a long career as a graphic artist with Comcast SportsNet—Philadelphia’s first regional sports network, now NBC Sports Philadelphia/Universal. As part of NBC SportsNet Broadcast, Stacy served as a graphic designer creating the on-air look, highlight packages, and studio broadcast graphics for coverage of the Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers. Those player statistics during a game, or the social media posts announcing that night’s starting lineup? There was a good chance Stacy designed all of them. He sure loved the Eagles. Go Birds!
His talent extended well beyond sports. Stacy designed educational graphics for addiction treatment learning modules at the University of Pennsylvania’s Treatment Research Center, contributing visual work that supported groundbreaking research and education in addiction medicine. He also designed the ribbon board and fascia LED displays at Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center (now Xfinity Mobile Arena), creating the digital graphics seen by thousands of fans at sporting events and concerts over the years.
Stacy approached life with quiet determination. If he set his mind to something, he saw it through, never looking for shortcuts or recognition along the way. Stacy never looked for the spotlight, despite spending a career creating what millions of people saw. He believed hard work spoke for itself. He measured success not by recognition, but by the people he loved and the difference he made in their lives.
An artist by trade, Stacy was also a devoted music fan. He believed concerts weren't just something you attended. They were something you experienced. Over his lifetime, he attended more than 250 concerts and made sure I started early, taking me to my very first concert in 1984: Michael Jackson's Victory Tour. Tough act to follow.
Beyond his artistry and love of music, Stacy had an enormous soft spot for animals. If it had four paws and needed a friend, it usually found one in him.
Stacy will be remembered for his creativity, his quiet generosity, and his ability to find joy in sharing the things he loved with others. He is survived by his father, Peter M. Lawrence; his sister, Sheryl Lawrence Howard, and her husband, Mike; his sisters, Jamie Lawrence Bubeck and her husband, Robert, and Jodi Lawrence O'Connor and her husband, Ken; his brother, P. Marshall Lawrence; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply and carry his memory forward.
He also leaves behind the love of his life, his devoted partner, Cindy Vaughn. Together they built a life filled with music, adventure, and unconditional love. Whether they were hiking, kayaking, visiting friends in the Carolinas, discovering a new art festival, or planning their next concert, they embraced every opportunity to make memories together.
During Stacy's final journey, Cindy was far more than a partner. She was his steadfast caregiver, fiercest advocate, greatest source of comfort, and constant companion. She walked beside him with unwavering love and grace, ensuring he was never alone. Their love story was one of true partnership, and everyone who knew them could see they brought out the very best in one another.
Stacy also leaves behind the four-legged family he and Cindy adored: Lady Stardust, Willow, Lady Jane, Tikka, and Trillian.
His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his art, his love of music, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Stacy's life on Thursday, July 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Givnish Funeral Home, 398 E. Main Street, Marlton, New Jersey.
Stacy would never have wanted a fuss so in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to the AWA | No-kill Shelter and Low-cost Clinic (https://www.awanj.org/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=865922074&gclid=CjwKCAjw0o3SBhBVEiwAh28-jWJaMH8jzHaaojBQexQfmMymxSuIfKkULOT3fwg8fAacrrUoPEYc6xoCIQQQAvD_BwE). Honor him in a way he would have appreciated by catching any one of the Philadelphia sports team in action. Or, in true Stacy fashion, pull on your favorite concert T-shirt, put on the album that always makes you smile, turn it up just a little louder than usual, and share some music.
