Stephanie Veda Deas' Obituary
Stephanie Deas, 59, of Westampton, NJ—formerly of Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY—passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family in Mount Holly, NJ.
Born on December 28, 1965, in Red Hook to Leon Williams and Ruby Williams (née Perkins), Stephanie was a proud Brooklyn native whose warmth, humor, and vibrant spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
She was the devoted wife of 36 years to Eric Michael Deas, with whom she shared more than four decades of deep love and unwavering partnership. In 2006, they relocated to New Jersey in search of a quieter pace, building a home filled with laughter, faith, and unconditional love.
She was a beloved sister to Tina Cathey (Reginald Cathey) and Innis Perkins, and a devoted sister-in-law to Pamela Nancy Deas-Holloman (Antoine Holloman Sr.) and Marion Deas Jr. (Michelle Clark). She was also a cherished aunt to Andrew, Tahira, and Khalil Fowler; Dedra Roberson (Bryan Roberson); Colleen Williams; Shidira Corentin (Aria & Alana); and Antoine (Nya), Aaron, and Aiden Holloman; Isiah, Elijah, and Star Deas; and Kasheim Williams (Jazmine, Clifton & Angel). Her faithful dog, Olivia, rarely left her side — and her “dog-in-laws,” Oreo and Lexie, will miss her dearly.
Known for her sunny disposition and lifelong love of the color yellow, Stephanie was a ray of light. Her Christian faith grounded her through every chapter of life, while her fun-loving spirit came alive through travel—especially to Las Vegas, Mexico, Orlando, The Bahamas, and Foxwoods Casinos—and in the simple joy of a good game of bingo. She brought joy, wisdom, and a sparkle of humor wherever she went.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, July 28th, at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Life Celebration Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephanie’s memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komen.org or the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
