My lasting memory of Steve in our life has a few outstanding examples of what a genuine good person is. Steve enjoyed spoiling us with trips once on a ski trip he recieved devastating news that his father was very I'll. On our way home from killington VT, Steve stopped and called his mom to check on his dad every couple hours I remember the last call I could see him in the phone booth and his head bowed. Steve's father passed. We were hours away from home still. He walked back to the drivers seat and finished the trip home without leting on his dad was gone. I always admired his strength. He never let us know how much pain he was in and i cant imagine. I never did tell him that I saw him in the phone booth that night.
I did write him a letter expressing my sorrow for his loss.
Later as I became more rebellious in my teen years he would stand his ground in his home even if I became totally out of control he found a way to keep me safe from my own stupidity.
He taught me to save for the things I want
Long after their divorce he still bailed out of jail once. In the years that followed we spent many family get togethers and laughed. My wife Caryn and I took him out for his birthday every year for the past ten years. He so enjoyed Ruth Christ steak and a Manhattan.
I am glad to have had Steve in my life he will be forever in my heart
