Sunday Ann Mary Scappaticci (nee Angelastro), 75, of Blackwood, NJ, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2023. Devoted wife of 18 years to the late Dr. John P. Scappaticci Jr., who just went home to the Lord in August. Beloved mother of Noelle Patel (Ajay) and Michael Panichella. Loving Nonna to Adino Patel. Dear sister of Joseph Angelastro. Dog mommy to Molly. Daughter of the late James and Lena (nee Giampietro) Angelastro.
Sunday worked at Cooper Hospital, then the rectory of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and then at Mt. Holly Family Practice (now Virtua Primary Care in Lumberton). While working in Medical Records she went to night school, becoming a Medical Assistant after earning her license as a phlebotomist. She worked alongside John, who eventually became her husband.
Sunday enjoyed poker, the beach, running, cooking, Bloody Marys, watching the Eagles, walking her dog, and spoiling her only grandson with Hot Wheels cars and Munchkin donut holes. She was well-known for her quirky sense of humor, raucous laughter, dance moves, Eagles fandom, homemade gravy, animal sweaters, patchouli perfume, always doing the right thing, and for her beautiful giving heart.
Her absence will be felt by her many loving cousins, dear friends, former coworkers, neighbors, and acquired family, as well as employees at her local Shoprite, Rite-Aid, Dunkin’ Donuts, Veterinarian office, and dog groomer.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, February 2nd at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 East Main Street, from 9 am to 10:30 am. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Maple Shade. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org
