Theodore E. Coffey's Obituary
Theodore E. Coffey born December 10, 1931, in Beaver Township, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Catherine Coffee, Ted was 92 years old. He was a resident of Pennsauken since 1962. Beloved husband of 62 years to June L. Coffey. Loving father of Norman Coffey, Mark Coffey (his wife Mary) and Rachel Coffey. Cherished Grandpop to Samuel, Emily, Victoria, Andrew and Brandon. Ted is survived by his sister Verna Appleton in Florida. He is predeceased by his brother Albert who died in California in 2004, his brother Leonard who died in Florida in 2016 and his sister Edna Coffey who died in Arizona in 2020.
Ted served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was employed as a mechanical designer at Lockheed Martin in Moorestown. Ted retired from Lockheed Martin in 1994 after which he freelanced as a mechanical draftsman.
Over the years he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and assistant Sunday school superintendent. He was active with the Gideons, served as President of the Camden Camp of Gideons and conducted religious services at Camden County Prison. Ted attended the Harbor Baptist Church in Hainesport, NJ.
He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and especially spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held this January 17th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Givnish of Maple Shade 600 East Main Street.
Ted’s Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment, with Military Honors will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Pennsauken.
