Theodore J. Welsh's Obituary
Theodore J. Welsh passed away peacefully on April 12, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family. Affectionately known as "Teddy”, he was born in Burlington, NJ.
Teddy was 85 years old. He was a resident of Palmyra since 1950.
Ted was the owner of TJ Welsh and Sons Construction in Burlington. He also was employed as a mason for US Pipe and Foundry Co. in Burlington for many years. After his retirement, Ted worked at National Auto Dealers Exchange (N.A.D.E.) in Bordentown, NJ.
He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Ted enjoyed spending his summer vacations in Wildwood, where he enjoyed fishing, crabbing and his fire place.
Ted also enjoyed watching western movies, loved the opera, playing bingo, sitting on his front porch and attending daily Mass at Sacred Heart. He was a volunteer fireman in Burlington and a life guard at Pakim Pond in the Pinelands. Ted was an avid hunter and built Lone Oak Gun Club in Chatsworth, Pinelands, NJ.
Ted was a man of goodwill, had many friends and many pets.
Beloved husband of 59+ years to Margaret L. (nee Giovanetti). Fun loving father of Marlene Welsh, Michael Welsh and Mark Welsh (Lisa).
Grandfather of Savana, Julie, Margaret and David.
Brother of Albert Welsh (Judy), Anne Welsh, Winifred Welsh the late Thomas Welsh and the late Margaret Pierce.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ted's Life Celebration and viewing
Friday 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 4th St. and Linden Ave. Riverton, NJ.
His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment St. Peter Cemetery, Riverside.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
