Thomas W. Murphy's Obituary
Thomas W. Murphy, a long-time resident of Maple Shade passed away on July 23rd at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Leona E. (nee Masticola) Murphy. Dear father of Patricia McCracken (Harry), Jane Swanson (Rob) Joann Magowan (Paul) and Thomas Murphy (Effie). Grandfather of Harry McCracken IV (Brenda), Melissa Guzman (Antonio), Christopher McCracken (Kelly), Andrew Swanson, Samantha Magowan, Sean Murphy and Logan Murphy; Great grandfather of Shannon, Colleen, Emilio, Antonio and Ella.
Tom was a wonderful son, brother, sailor, bricklayer, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He had a passion for his family and his Catholic faith. His talents included being able to build or fix anything that we ever asked for. He spent many enjoyable hours in his handmade workshop making wonderful wooden creations, which we will treasure for years to come. Tom always had great stories about his childhood in Philadelphia with his brothers and his exciting adventures with his Navy buddies. We never tired of hearing about his world travels during his service in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard in WWII defending our world from evil. The love of his life, our beautiful mother Leona, passed away over 25 years ago and dad always spoke of her with the intense love and honor they promised together, when they gave themselves to each other in their Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Tom truly lived his life to the fullest. He now lives with the love of his life, for all eternity with our loving God.
