Thomas E. Robertson's Obituary
Thomas E. Robertson, 83, of Marlton, NJ, and formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on April 14, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, Thomas was the beloved son of Asa and Mary Elizabeth Robertson.
He was the devoted partner of 36 years to Dorothy Gardner, whose companionship and love enriched his life immeasurably. Thomas will be deeply missed by his loving family: Jennifer Landesman (Jonathan), Kristin Gardner (Melanie), and Andrew Landesman (Julia). He also leaves behind his siblings; Susie (Frank), Jim (Anne), Donald (Ralph), and numerous nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends who cherished him.
Thomas grew up in Long Island, NY, as the eldest boy in a lively household of 10 children. He shared a particularly special bond with his mother, a connection rooted in their shared traits and mutual affection.
A proud veteran, Thomas served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1963 before returning to New York, where he dedicated many years to protecting and serving his community as a police officer. A true New Yorker at heart, Thomas was a lifelong Mets fan who took great pride in cheering on his team. Thomas was proud of his Irish and Scottish heritage.
In his free time, he could often be found at the Hempstead Country Club, where he enjoyed golfing with friends. Thomas also appreciated the finer pleasures of life, such as sharing a glass of wine and a delicious meal with Dorothy, or watching his favorite TV show, “Blue Bloods”. He loved cooking his signature dishes—including buffalo wings, baked clams, and hearty soups—and always looked forward to recounting stories from his childhood, often with humor and a twinkle in his eye.
To those who knew and loved him, Thomas was a gentleman in every sense of the word: kind, thoughtful, and gentle. His presence will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, January 18th, at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. The service will be live-streamed at: https://www.viewlogies.net/givnish/Gf6uZ0ZT7?pin=011552. Entombment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Medford, NJ, with a luncheon to follow.
