I had the pleasure of meeting Tim and Susan when our kids were very young and in school together. My daughter Danielle used to go to their house to play with Shauna and Ashleigh. She always said he was a fun Dad.
A few years later, after an unfortunate incident at their house, Tim dropped off a yummy butter cake and a thank you note on my front porch. I had had a rotten day until I got home and read his letter. It made me cry~happy tears. I told him that I framed it and kept it out where I could see it every day. When he asked me why, I said because what he said made me want to be a better person. I don't know how he did it, but he was always positive and happy. He had this natural ability to just make you feel better. And awesome hugs!
This letter was written on June 2, 1998, and I still have it in the same frame. There is a line he wrote that stuck with me all my life from that day on, and I really try to keep it foremost in my mind. Tim wrote, "I believe that it just goes to show that no matter how bad things seem to be there is always a good side. You just have to know where to look."
Well, I think this is one instance that doesn't seem to have a good side. Not one I can see right now, anyway. But some day, God willing, we will all meet up again in Heaven. I guess that's the good side.
Tim was a huge blessing to anyone who was lucky enough to know him. He was an Angel on Earth who left us way too soon, but with wonderful memories. Now he is an Angel in Heaven, watching over his family. Love, thanks and peace to you, Tim.
