Tsehay S Johnson's Obituary
Tsehay S. Johnson, of Mt. Laurel, formerly of Eritrea, passed away on October 14th, 2025. She was 73 years old.
Tsehay was born in Asmara, Eritrea, on December 15th, 1952. Devoted wife to Sigurd Johnson. Loving stepmother to Christina Ricciardelli Johnson, Robert Ricciardelli and Anders Johnson, Linda Johnson. Loving step grandmother to Hannah Johnson and Emma Ricciardelli. Cherished sister to Freweini Mebratu, Tigist Eyob and Selamavit Eyob. Most people knew Tsehay by her middle name Samia. Sigurd and Samia met in Saudi-Arabia in 1979 where he worked as a superintendent for a Swedish contractor in Riyadh, and Samia was a nanny for a Princess of the Saudi-Arabian royal family. They were married in Sweden, in April of 1980. They later moved to Mt. Laurel in 1985. Where Samia started her career as a visiting nurse until her retirement in 2015. In her retirement her and Sigurd enjoyed traveling.
Family friends are invited to Tshay's viewing on Friday, October 24th, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Givnish Funeral Home of Maple Shade, located at 600 East Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ, 08052. There will be a funeral service the following morning, Saturday, October 25th, 2025. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home.
