Ramon S Cuasay
We are long time close friends of Lulu, Verne, Rica and Robert, My wife Ludy and I had been friends with Lulu since our medical school years. We were a year ahead of Lulu in medical school. We all met again in Philadelphia. Lulu was by then married to Verne, who was then on his gastroenterology fellowship in Hahnemann University Hospital (Hahnemann Medical College at the time) while I was finishing my senior residency in general surgery. We raised our children in Moorestown, NJ after surgical training and Rica and Robert and our Peter, Cathy, Peggy and Jay were close acquaintances. We had moved to Spring Lake and began not to hear from or see the Pinedas anymore except through common friends by word of mouth. Life's circumstances and professional careers become unsolicited barriers of relationships. It is with great regret to admit that this tragedy of losing both Lulu and Verne within weeks of each other is what re-opened our interrupted line of communication. We pray God's comfort and support for Rica and Robert. Through this brief memory and tribute, we bid our good friends Lulu and Verne. their safe way into their eternal home.
