Victor was a great surgeon and colleague.
In my first year at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital, I diagnosed a young, non-English speaking patient with colon cancer. I was worried the patient would have difficulty following through with treatment, however Victor stepped in without hesitation, took ownership of the patient’s care, and skillfully performed surgery that cured the young man of his colon cancer. I observed him save many lives in the few years we worked together.
Victor also was an engaging story teller, sharing at lunch time about his experience as a boy from Odessa going to medical school in Moscow, his hobby of ballroom dancing, and his immense pride for his daughter on her college search.
He will be greatly missed by his patients and colleagues.
