Vincent G. Slowey's Obituary
Vincent G. Slowey of Moorestown, New Jersey passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on August 2, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 23, 1954 to James and Mary Slowey, and spent his childhood in Summit, New Jersey. Vince was the beloved husband to Nora Slowey for 44 years, and loving father of Christopher (Kristen) Slowey, Matthew (Kathryn) Slowey, Jenna Slowey, Marissa Slowey and Julia Slowey. He was a cherished grandfather of Ryan, Jack, and Theresa Rose. Vince was a dear brother to Pamela Wychunas and the late Richard Slowey. Vince is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whom he considered family.
After graduating from Fairfield University, Vince returned to New Jersey and was a resident of Moorestown for the last 30 years.
An avid athlete and sports fan, Vince passed down this love to his children. They were often cheering on his Giants, both New York and San Francisco, together. While managing a demanding career, he still found time to coach his children’s sports teams and when they got older, traveled long distances to show he was always in their corner. Vince was a big believer in always showing up.
After retiring from a successful career as Managing Director for Reinsurance at Aon in 2021, he spent the last few years surrounded by friends, family, and enjoying golf as a member of Riverton Country Club. He was lucky to travel around the world both for business and pleasure. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and took pride in taking on the role of “Pop.”
Vince cared deeply for those that he loved and spread happiness, laughter and wisdom to those who were lucky enough to know him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, August 6th from 6pm to 8pm at Givnish Funeral Home of Cinnaminson NJ 1200 Route 130 North. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 7th at 11am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Moorestown, NJ.
The family will hold a private burial.
