Virginia M Martin's Obituary
Virginia M. Martin, 84, of PENNSAUKEN NJ passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. Born on August 30, 1940, in Gloucester City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Evelyn Raymond.
Virginia—affectionately known as “Ginny”—was the devoted wife of Harold Martin for 35 wonderful years. She was a loving mother to Ronald Tornari (Cami), Stephen Tornari (Michelle), and Michael Tornari (Giuseppina), and a cherished stepmother to Jeffrey Martin (Jeanne), Eric Martin (Sandra), and Meghan Pham (Thanh).
She was the proud grandmother of Isabella, Marco, Todd, Tiffany, Tyler, Lucia, Vincent, Eric, Emily, Ethan, Michael, Gracie, and Holly Ann, and the adored great-grandmother of Emma, Jonathan, Sophia, Nikolai, Adelene Rose and Evelyn Pearl. Ginny was predeceased by her beloved siblings Bobby, Johnny, Bill, and Jenny.
Ginny enjoyed a long career as a restaurant manager at several South Jersey establishments, including the Seafood Shanty in Edgewater Park and Olive Garden in Cherry Hill. Before meeting Harold, she took great pride in being a strong, independent single mother to her three sons.
Ginny was known for her quick wit, playful sarcasm, and ability to make everyone around her laugh. She deeply loved her family and friends and had a special way of making people feel unconditionally loved. She treasured time spent at Bible study and book club, and she always looked forward to lunch outings with friends. She loved trips to the Jersey Shore, playing penny slots at the casinos, and going on cruises. She also enjoyed puzzles and had a special fondness for country music—especially anything by Blake Shelton. Worshipping Jesus and studying the gospel, whether at church, home, or bible study, was central to her life and the foundation for her joy, comfort, and peace.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, April 17th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main Street, followed by her funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. A reception to continue the celebration of Ginny’s life will be held at the home of Michael and Giuseppina, at 9 North Country Lakes Drive, Marlton, NJ 08053, immediately following the burial service.
