Wallace Easterly's Obituary
Wallace Hayes Easterly, of Moorestown, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2017. A resident of Cinnaminson since 1960 and a native of Cleveland, Tennessee, he was 97 years old.
Wallace was a WWII Army veteran, a corporal in the 4th Infantry Division. He was on one of the LST's that was hit in "Exercise Tiger" at Slapton Sands, England. The major campaigns that Wallace participated in were: Normandy (Utah Beach, D-Day), Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes (Belgium Bulge), and Central Europe. He was employed by Colonial Floor Covering in Philadelphia from 1950-1982.
Wallace was the beloved husband of the late Margaret E. (nee Omrod). Loving father of June Emens (Barry), Nancy Stasko (Michael), and Margaret Bard (Steve). Dear grandfather of Barry, Michael (Mary Ellen), Laura (Mark), Alex, and Daniel. Great grandfather of Cole, Jack, Ellie, Luke, and James.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, November 9, from 10 am to 11 am at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 300 4th Street, Riverton, NJ 08077. His service will begin 11 am, followed by a 1:30 pm internment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wallace’s memory may be made to the Calvary Presbyterian Church at the above mentioned address.
