Walter J. Kopala's Obituary
Walter J. Kopala, 71, of Stratford, NJ, passed away suddenly on August 25, 2021. Loving husband of 47 years to Susan Kopala (nee Butler). Son to the late Lillian Kopala (nee Calandra). Dear father to Jesse Kopala, Damon Kopala (Melanie), Dustin Kopala (Mia Bellamy), Serena Kopala. Grandfather to Mia Noel Kopala, Isabella Kopala, Jayciella Kopala, Jacob Kopala, Nathaniel Kopala, Eloise Kopala, Gabriel Kopala and soon to be grandchildren Lillian Irene and one on the way. Brother to Elaine Gazzara (Paul), Rosemary Peiffer (Chuck), Richard Kopala, and Alfred Kopala. Brother-in-law to Sandra Strobel (Gregg) and Travis Raney (Terri). Son in law to Clarence and Jeanne Raney.
Walt was a graduate of St. John Neumann of Philadelphia class of 1968. He loved all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles. Walt enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family, spending time with all his grandchildren, reading, swimming, spending time in the ocean (but not the beach). He will be missed by his many pets.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, August 29th at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and again on Monday, August 30th from 9:30am to 10:30am. Walt’s Memorial mass will be held at 11:00am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 100 Willowbend Road, Marlton, NJ 08053.
