Walter Poltorak's Obituary
Walter R. Poltorak passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, Walter was 89 years old. He was a resident of Cinnaminson and formerly of Pennsauken. Walter was a retired school teacher for the Collingswood School District. Walter proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII, where he served on the USS Cluster. He enjoyed playing the accordion. Walter played with the Polish String Band and played in the Mummers Day Parade for many years. He also played in several Polka Bands including the "Good Timers". He was a graduate of North Catholic in 1943 and a graduate of LaSalle College in 1949. Walter was predeceased by his 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Walter’s Life Celebration and viewing Friday Eve 7-9 p.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North, and his viewing Saturday 10-11:15 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 103 Fourth St., Riverton, NJ 08077. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Polish American String Band, 2727 E. Westmoreland St. Phila.,PA 19134.
