Wayne F. Bowers' Obituary
Mr. Wayne F. Bowers, age 93, passed away on April 30, 2018 surrounded by his family in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Wayne, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan E (nee McGuckin) also of Philadelphia. He is survived by his daughter, Louise Miller of NC who will forever treasure his memory. Loved by 2 grandchildren Denise Miller Johnson of NJ and Danny Miller of NC and their spouses Mike Johnson and Desiree’ Miller. He will be forever missed by his 5 great- grandchildren, Justin Bernardy FL, Ruthie Bernardy NC, Brandon Cooper NJ, Taylor Johnson NJ, and Michael Johnson NJ.
During WWII, he served with the US Army Air Corps for 3 ½ years, seeing service in England and France. He worked his entire career with Bell Telephone before retiring at age 57.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 6th from 2 to 4pm at Givnish Funeral Home, Route 130 N, Cinnaminson NJ. 4pm service with Deacon O’Connor. Burial Services and military honors will be Monday, May 7th at 10:30 am at Beverly National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his remembrance to the SPCA or local animal shelter to honor his love of dogs.
