Wesley S. Vaughn's Obituary
Wesley Vaughn, of Medford, NJ, passed away on Monday, April 14th, 2025. He was born in Vineland, NJ in 1963 to Wesley and Jacqueline Vaughn, and grew up in Hammonton, NJ, where he spent his childhood summers swimming in the waters of Hammonton Lake and making lifelong memories with family and friends.
Wes was known for his kind heart and quick wit. Voted “Most Friendly” in his high school yearbook, he had an uncanny ability to make anyone laugh—whether it was with a clever joke or a facial expression. His sense of humor and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He graduated from Hammonton High School before going on to a long and dedicated career in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Wes made his mark at several beloved establishments, including Rooney’s Ocean Crab House and Frog Rock. He also spent time in Boston, where he worked at the Sheraton Tara and earned numerous awards for his leadership—including the prestigious “Manager of the Year” honor. When he wasn't working he loved watching the Phillies. His work ethic, charisma, and ability to connect with people left an impression on both coworkers and guests alike.
Though he didn’t have children of his own, Wes’s heart was always full—especially when it came to his dogs. His beloved pup Sadie was truly his world, and before her, there was Spunky, his loyal companion and best friend for many years. Wes treated his dogs like family, often referring to them as his kids. They brought him immeasurable joy, unconditional love, and a sense of purpose that enriched his life deeply.
Wes is survived by his sister and best friend, Cindy, his beloved nieces and nephews—Kayla, Emily, Patrick, and Travis—as well as great nieces and nephews, extended family, and many close friends who loved him like a brother. And, of course, his sweet Sadie, who remained faithfully by his side.
A service to honor Wes's life will be held at Givnish Funeral Home in Marlton, NJ on Tuesday, April 29th. A viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a small service beginning at 12:00 PM. A luncheon will follow, where friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived.
Wes will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, and his deep love for the simple joys in life—especially those with four paws and a wagging tail.
