William Barbour's Obituary
William R. Barbour, Esq., passed away peacefully on January 31, 2017 at Samaritan Hospice, Voorhees, surrounded by his family. Born in 1952, Bill was 64 years old.
A lifetime resident of South Jersey, he and his family resided in Moorestown.
Beloved husband, longtime love, and best friend of 40 years to Anne Berk Barbour.
Loving father of Megan E. Steigerwalt (nee Barbour) Julia T. Barbour Dabek and Claire V. Barbour. Father-in-law to Ashley, Michael, and Tim.
Best Dziadzi (grandfather) of Emmett, Milo, and Maeve.
Brother of George Jeffery, John Thomas, Michael (deceased), Mary (deceased), Roy James, and Roger (deceased).
Recently retired, Bill was an attorney with PSEG and prior to that was a public defender for Burlington County. Bill first practiced privately with the firm Barbour & Costa.
An avid gardener, no fruit, vegetable, or flower could resist his loving touch and flourished in his care. Bill also passed along his passion for hiking, walking, and the great outdoors to his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. His jovial and passionate nature blessed everyone he greeted and his laughter will warm our hearts always.
Family and friends will gather Thursday evening 6-9 p.m. at Givnish of Maple Shade 600 E. Main St.
His Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 42 W. Main St. Moorestown.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Options for Women 1500 N. Kings Highway, Suite 110, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 and/or American Association of Cancer Research (AACR)
