William "Bill" John O'Connor's Obituary
William “Bill” John O’Connor, formerly of Camden, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2020. Bill was 90 years old.
Bill was a Cpl. in the United States Marine Corp serving from 1948 until 1952 during the Korean War. He served over 30 years as a Camden City employee, serving for 14 years as a Camden City firefighter where he received accommodations for saving three children in a Camden house fire. The remainder of his time he served as a Camden City Fire and Police dispatcher.
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Marie O’Connor, and his daughter, Elizabeth. He is survived by his son, William “Bill” O’Connor and his wife Rhonda; his four grandchildren, Rob, Will, Eric (Devin) and Sharon; six great grandchildren; his sister, Joan Abbato, and four step-sisters, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 15, from 9 am to 10:30 am at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. Masks and social distancing are required. His service will begin at 10:30 am. Burial with military honors will be private.
