William (Bill) O'Donnell's Obituary
William (Bill) Joseph O’Donnell, 84, of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024. Born on December 4, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA, to William E. and Marie O’Donnell. Devoted husband to Elizabeth Anne O’Donnell (nee Kirkpatrick) for over 60 years. Dear father to Maureen Turner (Kevin) and Michael S. O’Donnell (Melissa). Grandfather to Devonanne Turner, Meghan Marquis (K.C.), Allyson Sheehan (Ryan), Gracie O’Donnell, and Shane O’Donnell. Great grandfather to Jocelyn, Erin, Brennan, Emersyn, Addysen, Bryson, and Leighton. Brother to Catherine Ramirez (Jimie), Dolores Hampson (the late James), and the late Marie Smart (James). Brother in law to James Kirkpatrick (Laurie), William Kirkpatrick (Margaret), and Maryann Fuscaldo (Joe). He will be missed by his 18 nieces and nephews and many other friends, neighbors and relatives.
William grew up in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, PA. After high school, he joined the Army Reserve and shortly after met the love of his life, Elizabeth, on a blind date set up by their friends. They moved to Pennsauken then to Cherry Hill, NJ in 1979 and raised their children, Maureen and Michael. For many years, William worked as a Four-Color Separator, that started his career at Beck Offset Color Company. He ended his career at Phototype Color Graphics in Pennsauken, NJ. William was an avid Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers fan, a passion he shared with many members of his family. On his downtime, he could often be found going to the casinos, movie theater and watching old western movies. He also enjoyed feeding birds and other wildlife in his backyard. He loved traveling down to Cape May and Wildwood over the summer. His sweet tooth was unmatched and would never deny a good chocolate or cherry dessert. Above all, he was known for his strong faith and the love he had for his family.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Wednesday, April 17th at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and again the following morning at St. Thomas More Church 1439 Springdale Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003 from 10:30am to 11:30am.
