William J. Yeager's Obituary
William J. Yeager passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees with his 4 daughters by his side. Born in Philadelphia to William J. and Frances Mae (nee Dougherty), Bill was 84 years old. He was a resident of Cinnaminson since 1972 and formerly lived in Pennsylvania.
Bill was the devoted husband of 61 years to the late Frances H. (nee Baranosky) Yeager, who passed in 2021. Loving father of Terry (Richard) Durst, Deborah Kahn, Joanne (Mark) Rafferty and Jamie Yeager. Cherished grandfather of Kevin (Caroline) Rafferty, Kayla (Andy) Swivel, Suzanna Kahn and Kyle (Ellen) Rafferty. Adored great-grandfather of Beckett Swivel. Brother of Robert H. (the late Tina) Yeager.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Bill was employed as a truck driver for Fessenden Hall Inc. in Pennsauken for over 40 years.
William found joy in life’s simple, beautiful moments—and he shared that joy so freely with those around him. He loved spending his time watching every Phillies and Eagles game, cheering them on with genuine passion. He found excitement in NHRA drag racing, and comfort in his daily drives with Mom—always making that special stop at Wawa for coffee, then settling in to watch the sailboats drift by during sailing lessons along the river.
He cherished reminiscing about his “Boys” and his softball days, his face lighting up with every story. He savored big Seafood Nights, especially when there were crabs on the table. He held a special place in his heart for the Shore—particularly Wildwood—where he could spend entire days soaking in the sun and the sound of the ocean. With a beer in hand and the music of the Duprees playing, he was happiest, singing along because, as he’d say, “it was good music.”
The Christmas season was one of his greatest delights. He took so much pride in creating magic for his family, filling the room with a mountain of presents—always adding just a few more to make sure the joy overflowed on Christmas morning.
More than anything, William was a deeply kind and loving man. He spoke of his wife, his girls, his grandchildren, and his great-grandson with such pride and affection that anyone who met him could feel the depth of his love. He truly adored his family, and his greatest joy was making others smile, sharing laughter, and letting everyone know just how much they meant to him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 26th from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 27th 9-10 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. Bill’s funeral mass will follow 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church Branch Pike and Pomona Road, Cinnaminson, NJ.
Burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
