Zelmira Zorovich's Obituary
Zelmira Zorovich, a longtime resident of Mount Laurel and Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. She was few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. She was born to the late Johan and Antonia Castellani on May 25, 1924, in Nerezine, Croatia.
Zelmira was a loving wife to the late Drago Sokolich and Mario Zorovich. She survived World War II and went on to a successful career at the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Rome before relocating to the United States, where she met and married Mario.
She was a devoted mother to Janet Charlton (Craig) and Anthony Zorovich. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Jacqueline Gorman (Brian), Samantha Charlton, and Elizabeth Charlton. She had a special place in her heart for her friends at the Holy Innocents Society, where she taught religion for over 30 years, and for the Special Olympics swim team.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Relatives and friends are invited to honor Zelmira’s life on Tuesday May 14th, 2024, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W Main St. Moorestown, NJ 08057 with a viewing starting 10:00 am and Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be private at a later date.
