Dear Amy and the Edwards family,
I am so very sorry for your sudden loss. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. He will continue to live in your hearts forever.
From knowing Tony thru working at the County since 1976, and then being my brother-in-law for several years, some things about him that first come to my mind are his smile, laughter and he was friendly toward everyone. Genuinely a nice person. I do have
fond memories of him, a couple that come to mind that I would like to share.
I remember on my son's Christening Day, I had a little family party at the church's hall. Being on a Sunday afternoon at 1:00, I knew it was going to interfere with Tony's Eagles game however, I didn't think missing one game was going to be a big deal. I always hated football being on during a special event or holiday which I think Tony got the hint from previous family dinners or get togethers. He would end up in the bedrooms watching his games! Anyway, on this Christening Day, as everyone was gathering into the hall, Tony was walking in carrying a little TV to watch his Eagles!!! Even though my blood was boiling, I just asked him to keep it on low!!! He was a true Eagles fan that's for sure!! I remember him always yelling at the TV when he had his games on also!!
Another funny memory was one Christmas I had the family over to my house for a visit. After a nice evening of talking and refreshments, every one was leaving and my Great Dane, Dino, decided to go out behind Tony. The dog ran down the street and being that Tony was a runner, he decided to take a run after the dog to grab him. Well, after awhile no Tony or dog, we were all worried what happened. About 1 hour later, we get a phone call from poor Tony saying "I am in the middle of River Road in front of the Castle with your dog"!! We went to pick them up and there are cars pulled over and Tony standing out in the middle of River Road with Dino!!! Dino thought it was okay time with Uncle Tony!!
There are many family memories that I have however, the most cherished is when beautiful Amy was born. Tony was a very proud father and I remember him always talking about his beautiful Irish daughter Amy and was so proud of all of her accomplishments.
Rest in peace Tony.
