Ava M Farmer's Obituary
Ava M. Farmer, 57, of Clementon, NJ, passed away after a brief illness on April 22, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Born on May 1, 1965, to Russel Farmer Jr. and Elizabeth Farmer (nee Lang). Devoted mother to Tiara Farmer (Javier Torres), Amaya Farmer (Josh Thomas), and Mekhi Brown. Sister to Charm Farmer (Clarence Verdell), Dara Famer(Riggs) (Reggie Riggs), and Russell Farmer III (Kelley Farmer). Ava will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews; Shaunn, Channel, Sade, Russell, Clarence, Asha, Nadja, Naomi, and Jalen, along with great nieces and nephews, grand dogs; Stella, Loki, Pablo, and Leafy, and a huge host of friends.
Ava was born in Camden NJ and attended Haddonfield and Moorestown Friends schools as a child. She later graduated from Haddon Heights High School where she was especially known for being a track star, state champion and long jump champion, cheerleader, prom queen, and winning the Jessie Owens Classic. After, she attended Glassboro State University. For her first career, Ava was a beloved hairdresser and attended the Gordon Phillips Beauty School. For over 20 years, Ava worked for the Heart House where she started as a receptionist and later became the manager. She absolutely loved her career and was passionate about helping the patients and her coworkers. When she wasn’t working, Ava thoroughly enjoyed shopping and cooking an array of amazing food for her family. She was a true football mom and attended all of her son’s games, and will be dearly missed by all those that have met her. Ava will be remembered by the love she had for her family, her sense of style, her love of music and karaoke, the ability to make anyone laugh, and especially her contagious laughter.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, April 27th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Givnish of Marlton, 398 E. Main Street and again the following morning, Friday, April 28th from 09:00-11:00am with her celebration of life service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Berlin.
