David W. Campbell's Obituary
David Walter Campbell of Cinnaminson, NJ, died peacefully Friday, February 17, 2017, at age 73. Beloved husband of 49 years to Margaret (Peggy Ann, née Kiernan). He is also survived by his five children and in- laws and seven grandchildren: Jim & Angela (née Huff) and Vivian (age 4), Joe (3), and Jack (2) Campbell; Tom Campbell; Marianne (née Campbell) & Joe, and Connor (21), David (14), and TJ (12) Higgins; Joe Campbell; and Cathy (née Campbell) & Ben, and Kiernan (10) Newman. He is also survived by: sisters and brothers-in-law -Christine (née Kelly) Kiernan; Kathy (née Kiernan) & Hugh Fries and 14 nieces /nephews, innumerable grand-nieces/nephews, and an ever growing group of great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Bobbie (née Campbell) Williamson, his brothers-in-law Peter Kiernan, Rev. Jim Kiernan, C.M., and Richard Williamson, and nephew Robbie Williamson, and niece Marie (née Williamson) Moffett.
Dave was born in Abington, PA on September 18, 1943. He served honorably in the US Army Reserves, where he received computer training that led to a professional career as a systems analyst at JCI Data Systems in Cinnaminson. In 1967 he married his life's love Peg at Seven Dolors Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia (Wyndmoor) PA, and he also bought his first and only home where he helped raise his family in Cinnaminson, NJ, just three blocks from his sister and her family of nine children. On April 10, 1987, Dave became the 69th heart transplant patient at Temple University Hospital, where at age 43 with five children ranging in age from 3 to 17 years old, he was given a "second chance" at life which he made the most of, by continuing to work, raise his family, witness nearly 30 years of birthdays, graduations, weddings, and births, and engage in community and charitable activities. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish for 56 years, a Holy Name member, and retreatant at San Alfonso.
Dave/Pop-Pop was a strong yet gentle man of high integrity and sense of duty/responsibility to family. Through his example, he instilled many core values and life skills to his family. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend viewing Thursday, February 23, 7-9 PM ; 9-10 AM Friday, February 24, at Givnish's, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson. His Funeral Mass will follow 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
