Dorothy Loh Hutchinson's Obituary
Dorothy Loh Hutchinson ?Dot? of Cinnaminson passed quietly at the Lutheran Home in Moorestown on January 28, 2013. Born in Merchantville on February 2, 1921, the daughter of Helen Loh and Fred Brunet Hutchinson. Dorothy graduated from Merchantville High School at age 16 and from New Jersey College for Women (Douglass/Rutgers) as class president. She taught History at Palmyra High School from 1941 to 1983 at retirement, receiving many ?Special Persons? awards during those 42 years. Although Dorothy did not have children of her own, her students always felt like family. She was a charter member of the Rancocas Valley of the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century and a member of the National and State Society. She was a charter member of her chapter of Questers and a member of the Founders of New Jersey. Dorothy was predeceased by her sister Betty Brunet Hutchinson Trumbower of Medford. She is survived by loving family and friends- Brother in law James G. (Garry) Trumbower, Ellen Robertson Sayers, Cousins George Loh, Daniel M. Loh, Frank Loh, David Bannister, Judith Bannister Hazen and a myriad of ?once removeds?. Some knew her as the ?Ice Cream Truck Lady? of family reunions. Dot?s quiet manner and extreme knowledge of anything historical will be sorely missed. Relatives and friends are invited to Dot?s Graveside Service on Saturday February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Colestown Cemetery 100 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent in Dot?s memory to The Lutheran Home Auxiliary Volunteer Program 255 E. Main St Moorestown, NJ 08057.
