Edward J. McIntosh, III's Obituary
Edward J. McIntosh, III, 77, longtime resident of Northeast Philadelphia passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
Ed was a 28-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Force. During his law enforcement career he would go on to serve in multiple departments ranging from patrol to undercover and eventually retiring as a sergeant from the police force. Ed was always involved in his community and had many fond memories coaching and volunteering in youth sports with the Moss Athletic Association as a young father.
Ed was the beloved husband of Frances McIntosh (Stanley) for 33 years. Ed is survived by step daughters Jennifer Hudson and Theresa Thompson; step grand-daughters Ashley Rhodes and Barbara Jenkins; step great-grandchildren Skylar and Harper Leigh Carson.
Ed was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara McIntosh (Fish) in 1982. With Barbara, Ed was a proud father of his four sons Edward (Joanne Elliott), (late) Michael, Patrick (Maureen Coan), and Brian McIntosh (Sheilah). Grandfather to Danielle, Michael, and Brianna McIntosh; Norah and Nolan McIntosh; and a proud great-grandfather to Grace. Ed was the loving brother of the late Phillip and he is survived by his sister Mary Hoban (late John).
Due to mandated gathering restrictions, services will be held privately by the family.
