Edward J. Monroe's Obituary
Edward Monroe passed away from pulmonary fibrosis on January 1, 2024 in Voorhees, NJ at the age of 86.
He was born on November 23, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Gene and Mary Monroe.
Ed’s favorite hobby was making outdoor woodcrafts in his workshop.
He was also known for having the finest lawn in the area, which he maintained by mowing and edging daily from dawn to darkness.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife Gerri, and his two stepsons Vinny and Sean Turvey. He is survived by his children - Susie (Matt) Downing and EJ (Kenthia) Monroe; his 6 grandchildren -Brendan (Lisa) Downing, Morgan (Evan) Ward, Erin (Stephanie) Downing, Callan (Kelton) Downing, Tommy Monroe, and Scott (Cleah) Monroe; 4 great grandchildren; his sister Grace Baldree; and many nieces and nephews. His cat Leroy was very dear to him.
A memorial service for Ed will be held at the Tabernacle Church of Christ, 160 Carranza Road, Tabernacle, NJ on Saturday, January 6th at 12 noon.
