Francis Osenbach's Obituary
Francis Osenbach, of Cinnaminson, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2024. He was 92 years old, born in 1932 to Charles and Hannah (née Moore) Osenbach. He was an amazing father (and father-in-law) to Ruth, Rich, David, and Brett, grandfather to Kelly, Lindsey, and Courtney, great-grandfather to Parker and Chase, and brother to Kenneth. He is predeceased by his parents, son Mark, siblings Charles Jr., Rose, Paul, and Jimmy, as well as the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Joanne.
After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Francis went on to study electrical engineering at Drexel University. This prepared him for an over 30-year career with Honeywell International, where he enjoyed taking things apart and fixing them on a global scale, all while mentoring future generations of inquisitive minds.
After retiring, he spent quality time filling out crossword puzzles with his wife, pulling weeds in the garden, and occasionally complaining that his children spend too much money. He was active even as he entered his 90’s (or his “tenth decade,” as he’d be quick to correct you) – he would fly out to California to visit his son’s family or happily crawl around on the floor at home in New Jersey with his great-grandchildren. A few weeks before his passing you could even find him outside mowing the lawn, and then rewarding himself by sneaking a cigarette or two.
We’re happy in knowing that he’s now in a place with, among other things, an endless supply of chocolate marshmallow ice cream, and that he won’t get yelled at for eating it directly out of the carton. He will be truly missed by his family, his friends, and by anyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing him.
