George Frederick Mebs' Obituary
George Frederick Mebs, of Lumberton, formerly of Magnolia, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 23, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles and Edith (nee Easterday) Mebs, he was 95 years old.
George was in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and watching movies, especially westerns. One of his favorite movies was Bend of the River with Jimmy Stewart.
George was the beloved husband of Joan M. Mebs (nee Adams) for 66 years before her passing on September 12, 2023. He was the loving father of George Mebs (Angela) and dear grandfather to Elizabeth and Samantha Mebs. George was also the cherished brother of Edith Lyness and Patricia Koser.
Services were private for George.
