Helen T. Yensel's Obituary
Helen Theresa Yensel, of Marlton, passed away on May 15, 2026. Born on October 30, 1949, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Shirley (nee McInerney,) McCloskey.
Helen was the devoted wife of James Marc Yensel, with whom she shared a loving marriage since October 2, 1995, after the two met at Bumpers Club in 1993. Together, Helen and Jim built a life filled with laughter, music, dancing to the oldies, and cherished traditions. They enjoyed traveling to Washington, D.C., hosting memorable gatherings at their home, especially their beloved Fourth of July celebrations and Kentucky Derby parties, and spending time remodeling and updating their home together.
Growing up with five brothers helped shape Helen’s strong and caring spirit. She treasured her family deeply and remained especially devoted to caring for her niece, Kelly. Helen was known for having an enormous heart, always putting the needs of others before her own.
A graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls, Helen went on to build a successful career. She proudly owned Hollywood Beauty Salon on Frankford Avenue in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia before later becoming a legal secretary with Mattleman, Weinroth & Miller. She retired from Freeman and Mintz law firm after many years of dedicated work.
Helen loved baking, dancing to the music of the 1960s and 1970s, and supporting Jim in his Civil War reenacting activities. Her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit made everyone feel welcome and loved.
Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Jim, and her brothers Patrick, Donald, and Dennis. She is predeceased by her stepson, Josef Yensel and her brothers, Michael and Vincent McCloskey. Helen will be remembered dearly by her many loving extended family members and friends.
