John C. "Jack" Murphy
A memorial celebration of the life of John C. (“Jack”) Murphy will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Sacred Heart Church, 103 4th St., Riverton, NJ. Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 am with Mass to follow.
Jack passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Masonic Home of South Jersey, Burlington. He was 88.
Born in Camden, NJ, Jack and his wife, Fran, resided in Cinnaminson for 58 years until they moved to the Masonic Home last February. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this past October.
Jack graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1949 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. He proudly served in the US Navy towards the end of World War II.
Jack owned and operated Murphy Trane Heating and Air Conditioning in Maple Shade and enjoyed traveling as well as gardening, golfing, gourmet cooking and, of course, Notre Dame football.
Jack was the beloved husband of Frances M. (nee Gribaudo); loving father of John C. Murphy, Jr (the late Penny); Dennis M. Murphy (Alice); Kevin L. Murphy (Jacqueline); and Janice Murphy Griswold (Charles); grandfather of Ryan, Jennifer, Ian, Sean and Michelle; great grandfather of Shae; brother of the late Robert E. Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jack's name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
