John was a great friend to many here in Florence and a great supporter of musical organizations & cultural groups. His sometimes quirky nature added to his charm and he would often recount stories and sing songs as we drew together. He never complained of his illness. He will be missed and was much appreciated. A great person. May you rest in peace.
I would like to send my condolences to John's family, I was his Companion Aide at Vineland Memorial Home.

We were so sorry to hear of John's passing. We had visited John earlier this summer and we were planning a return visit when we hear the news. John and I are both Vietnam Vets and served during the same time period. John stood by our family on many occasions and helped our son Michael with his confirmation at the Palmyra Moravian Church. He often visited me in the hospital after my accident in 1981 and through the many surgeries that followed which we appreciated deeply. John also married Alice and I in 1984. Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and Holly at this time.
Sincerely,
John and Alice Chambley

Rev. Hoenig was a kind and compassionate man. Thank you for your service to our country and to our Lord. Rest In Peace sir.

Forever in our hearts.

One of my best earliest memories, were the slide shows. He loved telling the stories of them. Some 45ish years later I made them digital. He was so happy, we sat together and I listened to him telling the stories again. I will always cherish that moment.
