Jack welcomed me into the family almost 5 years ago, with not one, not two, but three Washington Apple martinis. Jack made me feel a part of the family from the moment I met him. We shared a love of books, travel and good food. He taught me to love French-press coffee and Manchego cheese (but never at the same time). Seth and I have spent countless nights trying new restaurants and enjoying old ones with him and Mom over the past few years. We took several trips with them and always had good laughs. Hardly a week went by that we didn’t share a meal or just stop over to say hello. I always looked forward to getting a text asking us to meet for dinner. I will surely miss being called Danni L. and hearing him say “so nice of you to stop by” when he was ready for us to go home. Jack was one of a kind and I loved the time, albeit brief, that I got to be his daughter-in-law.
