Joseph P. McCorristin Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph P. McCorristin, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Virtua Hospital in Mt Holly, surrounded by his family at 65 years old. Born in Riverside, NJ, to Joseph P. McCorristin and the late Jacqueline Mitch. He was a resident of the Lenola section of Moorestown and formerly lived in Maple Shade NJ.
Beloved husband of 42 years to Elke I. (nee Bautsch). Loving father of Alex McCorristin, Ian (Briana) McCorristin and Kevin (Ashley) McCorristin. Cherished Opa to Finley and Brexley.
Dear son of Joseph P.McCorristin and the late Jacqueline Mitch.
Brother of Michael (Diane) McCorristin, Evelyn (Philip) Peters, Maureen (Bill) Donolon, Jamie (Brian) Lennox, Kelly McCorristin and the late Debbie Mitch.
Also surviving are his many nieces and nephews.
Joe was a 1975 graduate of Maple Shade High School. Right out of high school Joe joined the US Army and proudly served his country for over 6 years.
Joe was employed as a carpenter for the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, listening to a large variety of his favorite records and also took pride in coaching his children in various sports being he was such a sports enthusiast.
If you were ever lucky enough to cross paths with him you would know immediately that he was very passionate about everybody in his life. He was so overjoyed to meet his 2 new granddaughters, Finley and Brexley. The girls will forever carry him in their hearts. He was always proud of his family and always had a light hearted story to tell everyone. His sense of humor would always make your day a little more memorable.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 17th from 7:00 pm- 9:00 pm, and Wednesday, May 18th from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Givnish Funeral Home of Maple Shade, NJ, 08052, 600 East Main Street.
Joe’s Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Moorestown, NJ, 08057.

Burial and Military Honors will take place at Colestown Cemetery, 100 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill. NJ, 08034.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name to The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation.
