Kathleen Marie Oakes' Obituary
Kathleen Marie Oakes (nee McCarthy), of Newark, DE, passed away on September 7, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Thomas and Marie (nee Saile) McCarthy, she was 89 years old.
Kathleen was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Ann Dougherty, and her siblings, Jeanne, Therese, Joan, Thomas, Mary Ellen, Patrick, and Kevin.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Robert Oakes; her children, Eileen Mele (Dante), Linda Grabowski, Theresa Thompson, Paul Dougherty, and Maureen Henderson (Duane); and their father, Edward Dougherty; as well as her husband’s children, Nancy Oakes (Bill Dube), Kevin Oakes, and Jeff Oakes (Karen).
She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Shawn Dougherty (Danielle), Eric Mele (Katy), Nicholas Mele (Jessica), Lauren Grabowski, Brianna Thompson (David Sorrell), Brandon Thompson, Jillian Buchhalter (Bernard), Ryan Henderson, Robert Grabowski, Anthony Dougherty, Nicholas Dougherty, Evan Henderson, Altair Dube, Nicholas Oakes, Dalton Oakes, Dylan Oakes, Nevaeh Oakes and Norah Oakes.
She will forever be in the hearts of her great grandchildren Quinn, June, Max, Grayson, Kash, Roman, Greyson, Nolan and Benjamin.
She is also survived by siblings Dennis McCarthy, Sharon McCarthy, Diane McCarthy as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who will miss her greatly.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Tuesday, September 17th from 8:30 am to 10 am. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Branch Pike and Pomona Road, Cinnaminson, NJ, followed by entombment in Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum, Route 130 North in Cinnaminson, NJ.
