Ken was very special to our family--to me and to my parents when I first became good friends with Tabitha as a teenager, and still now to my own family--my husband Steve
and our son Blake.
As Tab and I became best friends, Ken and Nancy immediately made it a point to make me and my family feel like a special part of their family.
Tab, Steve, and I all met at the same time, and after more than a decade of Steve and I having the pleasure of being treated as part of the Strausser family, he and I got married, and Ken and Nancy celebrated every step of our engagement and wedding as if it were one of their own kids getting married.
And when our son Blake was born, they were so excited, and just like Steve and I, he became family to them.
Over all these years, Ken was always the kindest, happiest, warmest person in the room at the many occasions and celebrations we all enjoyed together. From his famous bear hugs to his warm smile to his kind heart, Ken was someone we were all very lucky to have known.
Best of all was getting to experience the amazing love Ken had for Nancy, for his kids, for his grandkids and great-grandkids. He loved joining Nancy in reminiscing and telling people the story of when they got married and how long they've been in love. And whenever in the presence of his kids, he was visibly beaming with pride.
The world is a sweeter place for anyone at all that has been blessed with knowing Ken Strausser. I pray that his family may find some comfort in knowing that all the best things about him are not gone--they will always live on through them
