Kenneth M. Strausser Sr.'s Obituary
Kenneth M. Strausser, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Born in Philadelphia to Marlin H. and Lorraine M. (Stanishewski) Strausser, Ken was 66 years old. He was a resident of the Feltonville section of Philadelphia.
Beloved husband of Nancy T. (Byrne). Loving father of Melissa-Ann Strausser, Tabitha Strausser and Kenneth M. Strausser, Jr.
Pap Pap of Brittany Strausser and Andy Rivera (Kayla), Great Pap Pap of Amari Scott and Daisy Rivera.
Brother of Joseph Strausser, Lillie Mae (Carmen) Panichella and Gloria (Jim) Skinner.
Also survived by his brothers & sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was a proud Cardinal Dougherty Alumni (‘73).
Ken proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He also worked at Honeywell as safety inspector for the lithium batteries for the space shuttle Galileo that went to Jupiter.
Ken was employed by Arley Wholesale as a supervisor in the warehouse at the time of his passing.
If you were ever lucky enough to get one of his great big bear hugs you just knew it was the best, he loved baseball especially the Phillies and enjoyed watching them on TV and going to games. He also enjoyed his many adventures with Nancy going to different places all around.
For Thanksgiving & Christmas he was the master of stuffing, gravy & spinach. Although his birthday was Christmas Eve he loved sharing in the magic and joy he brought upon countless kids as everyone’s favorite Santa. Circus peanut, shoofly pie, cows tails & spiced wafers were his absolute favorite sweets. Ken was a kind, unique, selfless and incredible person with a heart of gold.
Most importantly, Ken cherished spending time with his family.
Ken was a proud member as an Odd Fellow in Walker Lodge #306 for 44 years.
In memory of Ken we invite you to wear blue as it was his favorite color.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, May 1st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Givnish of Maple Shade 600 East Main Street.
His Funeral Service will follow 1 p.m.
Military Honors will follow at 1:30 p.m.
Social distancing will be in effect, please wear masks.
