Margaret Ann Doughtery's Obituary
Margaret Ann Dougherty (nee Barnes) passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Brightview Senior Living in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Born in Chester County, and grew up in Delaware County, PA, Margaret was 86 years old. She was a resident of Cinnaminson and formerly of Holiday Village East in Mt. Laurel, NJ where she was involved in the Neighborhood Watch. Margaret was also a former resident of Ridley Park, PA. Daughter of Mary Barnes and J. Porter Barnes, Margaret was the loving mother of Lynne Dougherty Cureton and her husband Richard James Cureton. Devoted grandmother of Brienne Barnes Cureton, Christopher Cureton, Lindsay Cureton Moses and her husband Mark Moses. Great grandmother of Hadley, Sterling and Cecelia Moses. Margaret was the sister of the late John Barnes.
Margaret received an Associate Degree from Penn State and was employed as an Executive Secretary/Assistant on “Executive Row” for the Boeing Company, Ridley Park, PA.
Margaret was a member of the Church of Christ, she served on the Ridley Township Library Board from 1988 to 1995. She loved gardening, reading, watching movies, socializing, meeting new people and visiting the Library. Margaret also enjoyed traveling and visiting the casinos.
Margaret loved her grandchildren, animals and especially Hayden Cureton – our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Margaret's funeral service will be held privately. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Food Bank of South Jersey Children’s “Summer Meals” Program 1501 John Tipton Blvd. Pennsauken, NJ 08110 and/or the ASPCA
