Martha Valcin's Obituary
Martha Valcin (née Saintelien) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the residence of her son in Roselle, New Jersey. She was 95 years old.
Born in Verrettes, Haiti, Martha was the beloved daughter of the late Andre Saintelien and Miliora Myrtil Cordon.
Martha was the devoted wife of the late Victor Valcin, with whom she shared a life centered on faith, family, and love. She was a caring and devoted mother to Rosemène Delus Turène, Gerthy Valcin Valembrun, Eunice Valcin, and Jude V Valcin. She was preceded in death by three beloved children, Yvanne Valcin Jean-Louis, Gaus Valcinand Germaine Valcin.
She also leaves behind a treasured legacy through her many grandchildren, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her love, wisdom, and generosity. The family extends its heartfelt appreciation and condolences to the Saintelien, Valcin, Cordon, Delus/Turène, Valembrun, Jean-Louis, and Lott families, as well as to all relatives, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who shared in Martha’s remarkable journey.
A lifelong believer in the importance of education, Martha earned her Brevet and continued her studies at UEBH Theological Seminary. She dedicated many years of her life as a primary school teacher, where she nurtured young minds with patience, kindness, and unwavering compassion. Her classroom extended far beyond school walls, as she welcomed, cared for, and encouraged children wherever she saw a need.
Gifted with remarkable creativity and skill, Martha was also an accomplished dressmaker whose beautiful handiwork reflected her attention to detail and love for others. She found great joy in knitting and generously taught sewing and knitting to anyone eager to learn, asking nothing in return. Her willingness to share her time, talents, and knowledge was simply an expression of the generous heart she carried throughout her life.
Above all else, Martha’s greatest joy was her family and her faith. She lived with quiet strength, grace, humility, and a servant’s heart, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, steadfast faith, and unconditional love will remain an enduring source of comfort and inspiration to all who were blessed to know her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Haitian Baptist Church of Willingboro, 203 Sunset Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
Entombment will follow at Park View Cemetery, Medford, New Jersey.
Though Martha has been called home to eternal rest, the love she shared, the lives she shaped, and the faith she so faithfully lived will continue to be reflected in her family and in all those fortunate enough to have known her. Her memory will forever be cherished.

Sa volonté de partager son temps, ses talents et ses connaissances n'était que l'expression du cœur généreux qui l'a animée tout au long de sa vie.Avant tout, la famille et la foi constituaient les plus grandes joies de Martha.
